    Breakdown cover

Hi, sorry for the late reply, possibly no use now! Most recovery services do not cover your caravan, if your car breaks down some will take your caravan with you wherever they take your car, others will leave it for you to arrange what happens to the caravan or sort it for a one off fee. Some...

Prize Draw - Win a Nexus 7 tablet

The app is called `uk aerial alignment ` by `chris@crazyhatter`. The good thing is that it will work just by GPS, it doesn't need the WiFi, although if you have it it will superimpose it onto a Google map.

Prize Draw - Win a Nexus 7 tablet

Well I've been to two caravan club sites since getting it and the wireless wasn't working at either of them :/ I'd put sky go on it but couldn't try it to see if the Internet connections were good enough :/ I have put a natty app on that tells you which way to point your tv aerial though :) not...

    Disabled caravanning!

Not something I've ever really thought about, but I do know if you go on the Caravan Club website every site has an accessibility statement you can download giving an idea of how accessible they are. Not sure about the other chains?

    Inefficient Heater?

If you think the heater is at fault turn everything off apart from the heater, put that of 2kw and the thermostat on max then get a clamp meter and measure the current being pulled through the hook up cable. It should be around 8.5 amps + the little bit that the battery charger might be taking...

    Inefficient Heater?

I have an '07 Compass 636 but they all have the same 2kw heater right? The ducts to the back of my van also run under the floor to get past the side bathroom. I find it really good, In the cold weather I tend to get it hot with the gas when I'm first setting the van up then leave the electric...

    Auto watch alarm

Hi, we picked up our 2007 compass caravan yesterday, there are a few niggles but were really pleased with it. I've been checking everything over and have a question regarding the alarm. The sensors are all wireless battery powered units. The handbook suggests testing them by doing a beep test...

32 mpg? That's all I get without the caravan / trailer  The Skoda sounds like a winner, 4wd too!

That's a good tip, thanks! I will take it to work and drive it around the yard for a bit! I have to reverse off the road up a sloped drive between a lamp post and a street sign then through a 9'6" gateway to get it down the side of the garage and into the garden. I can do it fine with a...

Hi All, We've done a little caravanning before with borrowed vans but never really felt the need to own one... until we had children! We've tried flying with them and staying in villas and staying in hotels in the UK / France that we can drive to and found both hard work due to the amount of...
