Hi all, New to caravanning and this forum. Started many years ago with a tent, dragged the children through canvas holidays which they still talk about and they left home 10 years ago. Moved on to the trailer tent (camper) but found it cold as our interests moved towards bird-watching (best in winter). Now moved to a caravan - Bailey Olympus 2 birth - new last month, may have lots of questions later. Spent 5 night at -http://www.tudorcaravanpark.com - last month and had a great time. Lovely site open all year. One night the temperature dropped to -5c and froze water and pump, we had a very cosy night, thankfully the pump survived.

Hi Ed,

Welcome to the club!

Tudor Caravan Park looks very hand for Slimbridge.

Where is the water pump on a Bailey Olympus? It would be interesting to hear any suggestions for winterising the water supply on tourers. I lived in a large twin axle while doing up a cottage on the Isle of Skye, for almost a year! It got cold early in the season and we still were using butane, soon switched to propane.

Cheers

Hi Phil,

External pump, the classic aquaroll and pump set up. The aquaroll was almost empty and all froze. Will have to get a thermal cover for it or something.
