To celebrate the launch of their new mobile friendly website, Caravanwise the caravan insurance specialist have provided us with a Nexus 7 tablet device for a prize draw.

About the Nexus 7
===============
2GB RAM, 16GB eMMC - The Nexus 7 is the world's first 7 inch quad-core tablet delivering an advanced multimedia experience with up to 9 hrs of battery life.

It has bluetooth and wifi, weighs just 290 grams and has a vibrant 1080p HD screen.

I have one of these myself. It really is a nice size to hold in your hand and you can pop it in a jacket pocket. The Kindle app works really well on it so you can read in the dark or half light which can be handy in your caravan, you can also read in bed without disturbing anyone with a light on. It is excellent for web browsing, watching Youtube videos etc etc. There are loads of free and low cost apps for it on Google Play.

The full RRP is £199.99 but we got it a bit less than that of course.

Nexus 7 Prize Draw
Hi Phil
This is a great website :)
I would so love to win the Nexus 7 tablet. It would be ideal to pick up emails, play games, read books, find sites etc while away in the caravan, as well as at home in East Sussex.
Keep up the good work Phil and thanks to Caravanwise for supplying such a brilliant prize.
Kind regards & happy caravanning
Pam

The lucky winner is Alan Turner!

Alan says "That's brilliant, thanks! I've been looking into buying an android tablet for doing diagnostics on my cars as well as the usual email and web surfing so this couldn't have come at a better time."

Congratulations Alan!

Well I've been to two caravan club sites since getting it and the wireless wasn't working at either of them :/ I'd put sky go on it but couldn't try it to see if the Internet connections were good enough :/

I have put a natty app on that tells you which way to point your tv aerial though :) not as good as a signal strength meter but easier :)

I like the BBC weather app that knows where you are and gives you the local weather. It, like so many of these things, only works if you can get a WIFI signal though.

What is the TV aerial app called?

Keep us informed if you find any other caravanning related apps or apps useful for caravanners.

The app is called `uk aerial alignment ` by `chris@crazyhatter`. The good thing is that it will work just by GPS, it doesn't need the WiFi, although if you have it it will superimpose it onto a Google map.
