Sprite Musketeer Roof

I have a 2012 Sprite Musketeer and the ABS/plastic which bends round from the back of the van onto the roof has shrunk and cracked at the edges of the roof. My local dealer has been unhelpful about it as I did not buy the van from them. I thought it may be under warranty but they gave the impression that Swift/Sprite would not entertain it. I got it repaired but that is cracking now too. Has anyone else got these problems or is mine a one off? The duck tape keeping the water out is not the best look, and not too permanent.

Hi Al. I have had a problem with the top corners of the rear panel cracking which I think is the same problem as yours. Mine too is a 2012 Musketeer but I was told that the fault goes across a few Swift models though this will be denied by dealers. I had a complete rear panel replaced on mine under warranty. My son does mobile caravan servicing & repairs & he says there are repair panels which fit neatly over the cracked panels & he has done a couple of them. I don't know where you are based, he is in Barnoldswick in NE Lancs. Try a repairer & inquire about the repair panels.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your helpful information. I am in Scotland 208 miles away, according to google, but I will look into more local repairers. It is a bit annoying that the Swift dealer was not helpful this time. I am not likely to buy a Swift again although I have had various ones for over 25 years.

I do like the layout of the Musketeer, and it was the right length and weight, which was the reason we bought it, but this major fault has put me off completely.

Thanks again for your repy.

Kind regards

Al

I'm sure my son gets the repair panels from Campbells at Blackburn, if you're having trouble sourcing some near home it might be worth giving them a call.
